What is Document Signing Certificates?                                                                             

Document Signing Certificates are digital certificates that can be used to sign digital documents  such as Adobe PDF files, LibreOffice, OpenOffice or Microsoft Office files.

Document signing is the action of adding a trusted digital signature to a document. A digital signature is similar to handwritten signature. It is an electronic verification of the sender.

These Document Signing Certificates or Digital Certificates are issued by an accredited authority known as Certificate Authority (CA).  To put it simply, these certificates are somewhat similar to your Identity Card , Driving License and Passport.

With the certificates, your documents are protected and secured  with trusted digital signatures. They are a must-have when dealing with confidential documents online, such as contracts, bills, e-statements, financial documents, etc.
